There are three girls and one male airplane steward fighting for their lives. Will they make it through this nightmare? Aug 10, Randy Harmelink rated it really liked it Shelves: A good zombie apocalypse story that takes place during the breakout of the virus. I found it easy to read and plan to look for more books in the series, if the author plans any. The zombies also have a rarely seen attribute, which should make later stories interesting.

Great story I liked that the story is set at an airport at the beginning of the zombie plague. It is fast pasted and yet you get drawn in to the emotion and tension of the characters. Bangkok Z is set amidst the beginning of a pandemic outbreak, Toey and her friends arrive at Bangkok airport to find the world has changed in the short time it took for them to fly from Toronto.

Something is very wrong, everyone seems to have fallen asleep, yet it's not normal for an entire airplane full of passengers to sleep during a crash landing. Toey and her friends soon discover the world they left behind them in Toronto is not the same world they find when they arrive in Bangkok, everyone is dead or something other than dead, zombies. They disembark their flight only to discover they are now the menu for a new breed of humans, Zees, with a fetish for human flesh. The group of friends manage to make it to the airport unscathed only to find things are far worse and the world they knew will never be the same ever again. I really enjoyed this novella, I was surprised considering I don't usually read novella's I prefer reading longer narratives as I find novella's finish too soon and are usually lacking in story and character development and leave me feeling a little deflated upon finishing the story, not the case with this fabulous read.

I must admit I was pleasantly surprised by this book, it has all the appeal of a full novel, with dynamic, well developed, authentic characters. I found myself caring and rooting for Toey and her friends, as they find themselves facing an unbelievable situation.

I was hooked immediately, and found the story original yet compelling with an interesting and unique spin on the zombie genre. The narrative is well written and well constructed; I particularly liked the opening seen, it drops you right into the action from the get go, and continues at a fast pace until the end.

This fast paced, action packed story is a definite must read, I will be reading more of this series as I'm eager to see how everything plays out with Toey and her friends. Congratulations to the author Stephen J. Carter on a well developed, well written, thought provoking and unique spin on the Zombie genre, those of you who like Zombies and action, you're going to love this. I look forward to reading more in the saga of Toey and her friends, what a fabulous introduction to a new series well done Stephen. Aug 24, Stephen H. Imagine being one of the last survivors of a biological catastrophe that leaves the planet filled with zombies. Easy to do with all of the zombi content available. Now imagine being aboard a plane when it happens, and the pilot is also infected. Luckily they're near the airport, and while the landing is destructive, the main character Toey, and his three sidekicks escape to survive in the city of Bangkok. To add to the drama, these zombi's seem to have intelligence to a certain, and frightening extent. While I'm not a novella reader, since I love the character development and intricacy of a full novel, I found this story well constructed, and efficiently paced, to make it a joy to read. The character's felt real to me, making me care about their well being in the short 46 pages. A fast read, I was surprised as I hit the ending quickly. I recommend this to anyone who is a sci-fi or undead fan, and it is a great introduction to a new angle in the content-rich zombi genre.

Stephen Logsdon - Author of Odysseus: Aug 09, V. The Zees aren't coming, they're already here! This fast paced story had me breathlessly running through the streets of Bangkok in terror! Not to worry though, Toey Will save me! An enjoyable, engaging, quick read, with just enough imagery to give me a nightmare I will be reading the next installment Well done Stephen J. But of course the site software just converted my file, added the cover I'd included, and it went live a short time later. Maybe if I'd known what the odds were against success, and how literally nobody would read it for 2 years, I might have had second thoughts. After a year I posted my three titles by then at two additional ePub retail platforms. But there was no change. Six months later I cancelled all that, learned Kindle formatting, and submitted to Amazon. I immediately had a handful of downloads each month, which continued moderately increasing.

Sylvain Reynard - Gabriel's Inferno Audiobook 1v2

I recently found a way to invite readers one-on-one to post a review on my books via Twitter followers. That's resulted in a bump in reviews and downloads for each title. And that's where I stand now. Promotion is clearly a work-in-progress. What do you think about the future of book publishing? I believe ebooks are still basically a print book on a screen, so despite several years of exponential growth their potential has yet to be realized. By analogy, Google maps weren't popular at first. They became popular not because they mimicked static maps as ebooks mimic print , but instead offered apps and features not available on static maps.

I have no idea what such future dynamic features in ebooks might be, but once that happens the next wave of exponential ebook growth will take off. What genres do you write? God no, don't even fantasize about it.

Just do your writing most days, enjoy the ride, let the future take care of itself! OK, barring that, what do you see for yourself five years out? I suppose I'll just keep writing and publishing here in Thailand until they physically drag me away. As for my work load, ironically I'm far busier now with the daily writing, revising, editing, and promoting than I was in the academic world years ago.
