I will recommend this novel to anyone that needs to dig a little deeper within self. This novel definitely allowed me to look at my own shortcomings as a person and in a future relationship perhaps and how I can mold myself from my flaws.

The emotional outpourings are frequently petty, while great griefs such as the loss of a lover in the war are recorded simply by blank pages. As readers we yearn to know the whole story, yet true life is maddeningly full of such missing explanations.
